About The RoleOur team develops engineering applications and real-time analytics tools that assist control rooms in managing streaming data by combining and visualising various data sources. The control rooms monitor and operate electricity and gas grids 24/7. With AI advancements and renewable integration, this is an exciting time to contribute to energy solutions.
The role involves working on projects from data preparation to full machine learning solutions, designing, building, training, evaluating, deploying, and documenting using the latest technologies. You will collaborate with other developers and product team members or work independently, working directly with end users, primarily electrical engineers and analysts in Operations.
What You Will Be Doing- Develop robust Python code for machine learning applications and lead brainstorming sessions.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in ML.
- Manage metadata for operational data sources in data catalogues and virtualisation environments.
- Own artifacts like the graph database of grid assets and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Assist the PSA Technical Lead in ITIL Service Management processes like Change Management.
We seek candidates experienced in ML projects, comfortable with complex maths, eager to solve problems, collaborate, mentor, and admit when they don't know something. A sense of humor and resilience in facing hurdles are a plus. You should be eager to take initiatives from inception to deployment.
Your experience includes:
- Successful ML projects in production.
- Familiarity with ML Python libraries like Jax, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Wandb.
- Data cleansing, normalization, encoding, and text embedding.
- Understanding graph data and time-series for ML models.
- Model deployment, data pipelines, and supporting production systems.
- Hardware configuration for offloading computations to GPU/TPU/NPU.
Candidates may be asked to complete a data science challenge. Mention of activities like Kaggle competitions is a plus.
