The Indigenous Consulting Academy established by yamagigu, offers a transformative opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals to thrive in the consulting industry. Our program is designed to bridge the gap in consulting representation through innovative training and support.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

yamagigu is the largest First Nations consulting business in Australia. It combines market leading First Nations expertise with Deloitte's global professional services to support the self-determination of First Nations communities.

A Wiradyuri word, "yamagigu", translates to "Our purpose is to go with you" and encapsulates the spirit of partnership and shared journey.

We work alongside businesses, government, and communities to tackle complex commercial, environmental, and societal issues and design and deliver improved outcomes for First Nations people and communities.

Things you will learn within the academy

• Learn analytical techniques: develop your analytical capabilities, mastering techniques to interpret information and deliver actionable insights.
• Excel in project management: learn to plan, execute, and oversee projects efficiently.
• Enhance your communication skills: Engage with clients and stakeholders, crafting clear and persuasive messages.
• Strategic thinking: Gain expertise in aligning solutions with business objectives.

On the job, you will experience firsthand the intricacies of client engagement, learning how to build trust and foster strong relationships. You'll understand different industries, gaining insights into their unique challenges and opportunities. The academy will expose you to real-world problem-solving scenarios where you'll apply your learning to deliver impactful solutions. By working alongside Culturally safe colleagues, you'll acquire invaluable mentorship and guidance, shaping your journey towards becoming a successful consultant.

• You are of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
• High school leavers, those without a University Degree or those individuals looking to re-enter the workforce.
• A willingness to learn new skills and step out of your comfort zone.
• Open to working within teams on projects across the country.
• Our programs are only open to Australian and New Zealand citizens and Permanent Residents. For roles in our Canberra office, Australian citizenship is required.
