About The Facility

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

About The Role

The role of the Work Health and Safety Advisor is to support the effective management and coordination of Barwon Health's Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and alignment with Barwon Health's objectives for a safe and healthy workplace.

This role is responsible for delivering expert OHS advice, training, and support to managers, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs), and employees. It plays a key role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OHS strategies, policies, and procedures, with a strong focus on risk prevention—including the identification and management of psychosocial hazards—and the promotion of a proactive safety culture.

Through mentoring and capability-building, the position ensures the consistent application of safety and psychosocial risk management programs across the organisation, supporting injury prevention and the creation of a safe and supportive working environment for all staff.
