Senior Project Engineer

Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:

This national Commercial Builder is best known for their Fit out & Refurbishment projects up to $40m in Melbourne CBD. In this split role, between site and office, you will be joining the team as an experienced Project Engineer, who will develop into a Project Manager.

The commercial builder has a strong brand and reputation in the Melbourne Fit out market, with a number of high profile clients across professional services, health care and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of commercial fit-out projects from inception to completion.

Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and manage project documentation, including drawings, specifications, RFI's and submittals.

Site Support: Provide technical support to the site team, ensuring all works are compliant with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Quality Control: Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets our high standards and client expectations.

Financial Administration: Assist with cost control, variations, and progress claims.

Health & Safety: Uphold and promote a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring all activities comply with WHS regulations.

Skills & Experience:

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within the commercial fit-out or construction sector.

A solid understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and terminology.

Proficiency in project management software Procore & Jobpac

Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

A proactive and collaborative attitude with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
