The Role: Senior Accountant – Mergers & Acquisitions

As our Senior Management Accountant, you'll be a key partner in proactively supporting CBN's investment and M&A function. You will deliver high-quality financial analysis, modelling, and due diligence to enable informed decision-making. Working closely with our finance leadership, you'll focus on strategic financial governance, performance reporting, and driving efficiency across our equity-owned businesses.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Financial Expertise: Develop and maintain detailed financial business cases and valuation models to support M&A activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Due Diligence Leadership: Lead and coordinate financial due diligence for acquisitions, divestments, and loans.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting on the performance of CBN Subsidiaries, Associates, and acquired businesses.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Drive the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and performance tracking for CBN equity-owned businesses.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and lead initiatives to improve automation, data accuracy, and reporting efficiency within management and investment reporting.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders to undertake market research and competitor benchmarking, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure regular dialogue and value-added activity.
  • Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentoring within the Finance team, demonstrating service excellence and process efficiency.

What We're Looking For:


• Proven experience in financial analysis, modeling, and due diligence.


• A strong background in management accounting, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.


• Experience with month-end, half-year, and year-end closing processes.


• A strong understanding of financial governance and risk management.


• A collaborative mindset and a knack for building strong relationships with business leaders and stakeholders.


• An innovative spirit with a desire to challenge the status quo and drive process improvements.
