UGL Defence has recently been awarded the contract to manage the Defence fuel related Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance.We are recruiting Mechanical Fitters to join our Operations & Maintenance team in what is an exciting opportunity to work in the Australia Defence Environment, supporting the national security requirements of the Nation.

The Role

Reporting through to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at one of two main sites in Perth's surrounding suburbs, with occasional regional travel. These duties will include, but not limited to;

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
  • Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel related assets and equipment
  • Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
  • Support subcontracted work packages as required
  • Support various sites in greater Perth region, with occasional requirement to travel to regional locations in WA

The Rates:

New Rates as of 1st July 2024

Maintenance Trades (Mechanical)

  • Level 1 - $45.57 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($35.27 Weekly)
  • Level 2 - $49.05 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($35.27 Weekly)
  • Level 3 (Dual Trade) - $52.55 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($35.27 Weekly)

What you Need

You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee that will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer. We expect the successful applicants to have the following

  • Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience
  • Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas.
  • Experience working within the defence fuels network or defence industry will be highly regarded
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded
  • Safety is at the forefront of everything you do
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
