We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team, a pivotal role responsible for managing the full spectrum of financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley (JSOX) requirements, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
  • Consolidate financial data for reporting to our Japanese parent company.
  • Oversee the general ledger, fixed assets register, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Monitor and forecast daily cash flow.
  • Liaise with external advisors to support tax compliance.
  • Support payroll, tax compliance, and liaise with external advisors.
  • Implement, maintain, and test internal controls aligned with JSOX requirements.
  • Lead the annual external audit, working closely with auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective bilingual communication (English & Japanese) with stakeholders in Australia and Japan.
  • Continuously analyse, document, and improve financial processes and systems.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA/CA qualification (or working towards it).
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS, and JSOX.
  • Fluent in both English and Japanese (spoken and written).
