About the Role
As our Senior Accountant / Team Leader, you'll work closely with the Manager and wider team to:
Compliance & Advisory
- Prepare and review tax returns (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships)
- Oversee BAS, GST, PAYG, and corporate tax compliance
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
- Deliver strategic tax and financial advice
- Manage workflow and review outputs across compliance and advisory
- Lead and mentor junior and intermediate staff
- Contribute to process improvements and help shape the firms growth
- Bring a long-term career mindset, with potential to manage an offshore team in future
Client Relationships
- Liaise with clients via email, answering queries and acquiring documents
- Ensure 100% accuracy, timeliness, and top-quality deliverables
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
- 7+ years in Australian public practice
- 2+ years in a leadership, workflow, or review capacity
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax law, AASB standards, and compliance
- Confident with Xero, Excel, MYOB, QuickBooks, and tax tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and efficiency
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with FYI Docs or similar DMS
- A natural mentor with a warm, approachable style
- Experience across a range of industries and client sizes
- Long-term mindset and excitement for future leadership opportunities
