Complex Personal Support Worker – Initially commencing as Casual with the opportunity to progress to Permanent Part-time (average 40 to 70 hours per fortnight) after completing industry and on-the-job training and support.

Role Overview:

As a Complex Personal Support Worker, you will assist clients with daily living tasks, fostering positive connections and helping them live independently at home. We have multiple roles available and seek passionate, professional individuals committed to providing high-quality personal support services.

Key Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive industry-level training at the start of employment, with ongoing on-the-job training and support.
  • Work under the guidance of Key Workers and Community Nurse clinicians to assist with:
  • Personal support routines for individuals with spinal injuries and complex health or aged care needs, including ventilated care in some cases.
  • Toileting, bladder and bowel support, including catheter and stoma care management.
  • Trachea management routines (under supervision of clinical nurses).
  • PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeding and supplements.
  • Transfers using hoists, seating, and bed positioning.
  • Passive exercises and in-home rehabilitation programs.
  • Grooming, bathing, dressing, and dental hygiene assistance.
  • Medication assistance and basic wound care.
  • Domestic support such as meal prep, light household duties, and laundry.
  • Community access support, including arranging taxis or driving clients to appointments and social activities.

About You:

  • You possess a positive, professional attitude and an empathetic nature.
  • Experience in Nursing, Aged Care, or Disability Support is desirable but not essential.
  • Full industry training and ongoing support will be provided.
  • You are reliable and able to commit to a roster of shifts.
  • You are physically fit to perform lifting, bending, and carrying tasks.
  • You treat others with dignity, respect, and without judgment.
  • You are an excellent listener, honest communicator, and able to work independently.
  • You have a willingness to learn and adapt to different client needs and environments.

Requirements for Successful Candidates:

  • Extensive training provided by Registered Nurses & Key Support Workers.
  • A current Australian driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • A smartphone device.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Positive Notice (Yellow Card) and Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or willingness to apply.
  • Completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module.
  • Flexibility to work a fixed fortnightly roster with varying shift times, including weekends and late afternoons into early evenings.
