Full-Time Qualified Chef (Oriental Cuisine)

Francis Venues is seeking an experienced and passionate Qualified Chef specialising in Oriental Cuisine to join our team at Watergardens Hotel.

Our buffet features a blend of modern Australian favourites alongside internationally inspired dishes, and we're looking for someone who can bring authentic oriental flavours to our menu. We pride ourselves on using the best quality produce to create fresh, vibrant dishes in a warm, family-friendly environment.

At Francis Venues, our team is at the heart of everything we do. We foster a supportive, growth-focused culture where our chefs are encouraged to be creative, take ownership of menus, and work with fresh ingredients prepared in-house.

The successful applicant will have:

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef (specialising in Oriental cuisine essential)

Experience in buffet or high-volume kitchen operations (preferred)

A recognised chef qualification

Solid knowledge of OS&H and food safety practices

Proven ability to work in fast-paced commercial kitchens

Strong teamwork skills and adaptability

High attention to detail and presentation standards

Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic

Availability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

Key responsibilities:

Contribute to menu planning and daily specials with a focus on oriental dishes

Prepare and manage prep lists for the kitchen team

Monitor food costing, inventory, and portion control

Uphold high standards for food quality, storage, and presentation

Ensure compliance with health codes and venue policies
