About The Role

As we continue to evolve and grow in the digital space at TasNetworks, we're looking for a proactive and experienced Data Team Leader to lead the development, management, and support of our data products and business warehouse operations.

The Role Will
  • Lead and coach a high-performing technical team delivering data products, business warehouse solutions, and support services.
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and maintenance of scalable data solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Support the Data Centre of Excellence, including governance frameworks, warehouse operations, and product lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure fit-for-purpose technical designs and smooth integration.
  • Manage daily operations and project activities, acting as an escalation point and ensuring performance targets are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process efficiency, and adherence to quality, security, and change management standards.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and support resource planning for digital initiatives.

About You

You're a strong people leader with a deep technical understanding of data products and warehouse systems. You bring:
  • 5+ years' experience working with data products in the energy, utilities, or mining sectors. Familiarity with metering data, LiDAR, spatial data, SAP Analytics Cloud or Microsoft Power BI an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, prioritise competing demands, and deliver high-quality outcomes on time.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively.
  • A continuous learning mindset and passion for staying across data and industry trends.
  • Experience working in complex environments, with a strong understanding of governance, change management, and quality assurance practices.
