At MacKillop Family Services, our Out of Home Care (OOHC) program is on the front lines of supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged youth — and we're looking for compassionate, dedicated individuals likeyou to be part of something truly meaningful.

An hourly rate of 34.46 to 40.05based on SCHADS Award Level 2-3 dependant on qualification and experience.

As a member of our team, you won't just be providing in-home care — you'll be a mentor, a supporter, and a trusted guide. You'll have the chance to make areal impactevery single day by helping young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to build brighter futures.

It's a dynamic position where no two days will be the same, we are looking for individuals who are resilient problem solvers and are dedicated in making a difference. The role requires availability to work a 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

In this position, you'll receive support from a House Supervisor who will guide you, as well as from a dedicated team of professionals including Case Managers, Therapeutic Specialist and Coordinators. The House Supervisor will help you navigate the position, providing advice and assistance when needed, while the wider team will offer collaborative support and share their expertise to ensure you have the resources required to succeed.

Your tasks will include:

  • Supporting young people's emotional and practical needs – offering a listening ear and helping out when they need it most.
  • Encouraging personal growth and well-being – helping them build skills, confidence, and a positive outlook on life.
  • Managing the behind-the-scenes tasks – taking care of the day-to-day admin and helping the household run smoothly.
  • Creating a positive environment – ensuring the space stays welcoming, stable, and supportive for everyone.
  • Providing a nurturing home environment, including cooking nutritious meals and encouraging our young people to eat a healthy, balanced diet.

To be a great fit for this role, you'll need:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or a similar, relevant qualification plus the completion of x4 'Residential Skill Set' units).
  • A valid driver's license (you'll need it to get around).
  • Working with Children Check, Criminal History Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check (we'll help with this if needed).
  • A genuine passion for helping young people thrive and a caring heart.
  • Empathy, with the ability to connect with young people in a non-judgmental way.
  • Strong emotional self-regulation skills – you'll be the steady hand that provides safety, consistency, and stability to those in your care.

Whilst previous experience working with Young People is preferred, we encourage individuals without prior experience who are passionate about making a difference in Young People's lives to apply.
