As Principal Software Engineer Workflow, you will be responsible for ongoing change and development for the workflow solutions and provide technology oversight to different business units.

As a Principal Systems Engineer in the Workflow Crew, you'll drive the architecture, design, build and governance roadmap across the Group for various workflow technologies. You'll also provide technical oversight and leadership across multiple business units and geographies.

You'll get to turn your passion into a reality, working with modern technology on state-of-the-art projects to enable a seamless and unrivalled customer experience. You'll build high-quality, reliable solutions that determine how millions of people access their money and define future industry trends.

We're interested in hearing from people who:

  • Design and deliver innovative technical solutions to strategic business problems

  • Collaborate with high-performing engineers to define current and future states and roadmaps

  • Translate project vision into actionable plans and iterative delivery

  • Constructively challenge the status quo and influence stakeholders at various levels

  • Influence the future of the Group's technology direction every day

  • Lead and mentor engineers while fostering a DevOps mindset and engineering excellence

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all, but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:

  • Workflow platforms (e.g. Pega, Appian, Temporal)

  • Cloud & Infrastructure as Code

  • Microservices and cloud-native integration patterns

  • DevSecOps practices and secure development pipelines

  • Data architecture and telemetry tooling (e.g. Observe, Obstack, PagerDuty)

  • Programming languages such as C#, Python, Java is beneficial

  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems and continuous delivery at enterprise scale
