About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO and as a key member of the Executive Team, this is a pivotal, values-driven leadership role shaping the future of mecwacare. You will lead the creation of a modern, agile people and culture function aligned to our strategic objectives and designed to drive long-term organisational success.
With a strong focus on organisational design, transformational change, and leadership capability, you will:
- Develop and deliver progressive people strategies that enable performance, foster innovation, and strengthen engagement at all levels.
- Build a positive, inclusive, and psychologically safe workplace culture where people can thrive and contribute their best.
- Lead cultural and operational transformation that unlocks the full potential of our workforce, positioning mecwacare as an employer of choice in a competitive sector.
Key Capabilities
- Proven Executive Leadership – At least 10 years' senior leadership experience in large, complex, customer-facing organisations, with a track record of operational excellence and strategic delivery.
- Adaptive Leadership Style – Comfortable in dynamic, evolving environments, you lead through coaching, mentoring, and empowerment rather than command-and-control.
- Collaborative Influence – Exceptional relationship builder who works seamlessly across operational, commercial, and frontline teams to drive shared outcomes.
- Change Leadership – Demonstrated success leading complex, organisation-wide transformation and change programs, influencing stakeholders, and delivering measurable improvements.
- Compelling Communication – Skilled in inspiring, motivating, and engaging diverse teams — both in-person and virtually — with clear, authentic communication.
- Innovation & Improvement Mindset – Constantly seeking smarter ways to enhance employee experience, culture, and organisational performance.
- High Emotional Intelligence – Balances strategic focus with genuine care for people, using diplomacy and empathy to navigate complex workplace dynamics.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
- A resilient, commercially astute leader who thrives in high-pressure, fast-changing environments.
- Known for challenging the status quo with confidence and crafting innovative, business-aligned people strategies.
- Trusted adviser to senior leaders, with an ability to influence at the highest levels.
- Experienced in building and leading high-performing HR functions that deliver tangible business value and act as true strategic partners.
