Your Role as a Behaviour Therapist at daar

Be a dedicated member of the team by positively shaping lives through the principles and practices of behaviour therapy.

• Utilise assessment tools to conduct behavioural assessments and analysis to develop behaviour support plans.
• Implement behaviour support plans and review them as per NDIS guidelines.
• Ensure practices and interventions align with NDIS Quality and Safeguards, NDIS Restrictive Practices, and Behaviour Support guidelines.
• Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver improved health outcomes.
• Understand other models of practice complementary to Positive Behaviour Support, such as environmental enrichment and person-centred active support.
• Manage a caseload of children, young people and adults with a disability, providing assessment, consultation, intervention planning, and program development, including those with complex needs or challenging behaviour.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions for people with a disability and their families and carers.
• Communicate with individuals, families and other professionals to ensure appropriate intervention is delivered.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic therapy programs for children receiving more than one allied health service, particularly for autism and complex developmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals to address behavioural challenges using evidence-based techniques.
• Develop and implement behaviour intervention plans to promote positive behaviour changes.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree (Required)
• Behaviour Therapist: 1 year (Required)
• Australia Work Authorisation (Required)

Schedule

• 8 hour shift
• Morning shift
