Vestas has an exciting position at Wambo wind farm for a full-time and long-term electrician service technician.

• Monday to Friday with occasional weekends
• 52 per hour + Allowance + Superannuation + Bonus
• Immediate start for the right candidate

About The Role

This role is for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic electrical technician to work in our service team. The successful applicant must hold a recognised Australian trade certificate.

The department is a small team environment based on-site at Wambo Wind Farm. Technicians report to the site supervisor and are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the wind turbines in accordance with the contract. Support is provided by an administrator and a planner, with KPIs set by the Area Service Manager.

Responsibilities

1. Undertake scheduled service and reactive maintenance as required
2. Respond to and attend site outside normal working hours for reactive maintenance on a rostered basis
3. Maintain all company vehicles and plant and equipment in good, clean condition
4. Perform operations and maintenance within training and authorization limits, including operation of HV and LV systems
5. Ensure safety of personnel, environmental protection, and adherence to work methods at all times
6. Undertake site inductions
7. Meet the requirements of the SMA (Service Maintenance Agreement)
8. Comply with OH&S legislation and demonstrate a commitment to accident prevention
9. Follow all work instructions, procedures, safety codes, employer OH&S and Environmental requirements, and statutory rules
10. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
11. Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, or other relevant meetings
12. Perform other duties within competence, skill, qualifications, and experience as directed

Qualifications

• A-Grade Electrical license
• Full clean driving license

Competencies

• Literate with PC and modern technologies supporting daily work
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings for fault-finding and maintenance
• Knowledge of PLC and/or SCADA systems (preferred)
• Motivated to learn new skills and thrive in a growing industry
• Understanding of safety principles and commitment to safety compliance
• Experience with HV/LV, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial environments
• Proficient in using various hand tools
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a small team
• Ability to work at heights and in confined environments
