Myer is looking for a National Store Design Manager to deliver world-class retail design concepts and solutions into Myer stores, enhancing the customer's experience, whilst continuing to innovate and improve cost and design process efficiencies. You will be working with both internal and external stakeholders to drive and deliver new, innovative designs and improve existing design standards within Myer, to ensure the business gets maximum value from capital spent.

• Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of design briefs including Standards, Developers Brief & Standard Myer Fixture Library in line with Myer strategy
• Lead the development and/or manage the production of Myer owned concepts, presentation sketches & relevant technical documentation, specifications, details and finishes in preparation for project approval
• Lead the development and implementation of cost efficiency levers with a key focus to value engineer and simplify current processes
• Be the custodian of the development and evolution of design requirements for each tier of stores (Flagship, Full Renewal, Light Renewal and Basic Renewal)
• Manage internal/external stakeholders and consultants, shopfitters and contractors to ensure all design are in line with Myer strategy and project outcomes are achieved
• Oversee all detailed design documentation required to service the assigned project/s and enable procurement, construction/project management teams to carry out its tender and construction activities across all initiatives in line with the agreed project programme, scope and budget expectations
• Identify design planning solutions to align with project budgets which are in line with the company strategy to improve the customer experience and reduce the cost of doing business
• Lead the team to ensure follow through for each project, ensuring design detailing is executed through the construction phases from prototyping, through to completion of the site works and defects identification and resolution
• Lead team to high performance through regular and effective coaching, feedback, mentoring and training and identifying development opportunities.

• 5+ years of retail design experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of Concept Designers
• A degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong knowledge of retail/product design in terms of fixture design, lighting, finishes and signage.
• Excellent understanding of construction means and methods including a strong knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and legislation
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe CS6 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Exceptional concept design skills, a proven track record of managing design solutions and delivering projects
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills; verbal, written and visual
• Strong visual presentation skills including perspective sketching, graphic design and rendering (hand or computer generated)
• Effective time management and an ability to multi-task and prioritize a dynamic workload
• Ability and willingness to perform under tight deadlines to ensure successful completion of all work assignments
