About the Role :

The Community Engagement Advisor for Algal Bloom provides engagement and communications support to DEW stakeholders, focusing on the algal bloom affecting parts of South Australia. The role involves delivering communication tactics, maintaining channels to increase community understanding, support, and involvement. While primarily focused on algal bloom communications and engagement, the role may also assist with other departmental projects, manage media inquiries, and develop media and social media opportunities. The Advisor will develop engagement and activity plans aligned with best-practice community engagement principles, and contribute to strategic communication activities by managing, monitoring, and evaluating initiatives, as well as maintaining content across various communication platforms.

Contract : 12 months

Desirable Qualifications :

An appropriate degree or qualification in communications, journalism, or a relevant discipline is desirable.

Special Conditions :

  • Participation in responses to state emergencies or related duties may be required.
  • You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work visa allowing unrestricted work in Australia.
  • Successful applicants will need to obtain a National Police Check prior to employment.
  • Intra- and interstate travel, including travel in light aircraft, may be required.
  • Occasional overnight absences and work outside normal hours may be necessary.

Remuneration :

ASO5 $85,790 minimum - $95,413 maximum per annum
