Role Description/Criteria

St Mary's School, Geelong, has a rich history of providing quality education that equips students with the knowledge, skills, attributes, and behaviors they will use throughout their lives.

We are seeking passionate, highly skilled educators who embrace the school's vision for evidence-informed practices to join our dedicated staff team. These contract relief positions are for Term 4, 2025, and beyond, with potential for fixed-term employment in 2026.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A strong commitment to Catholic education and the ethos of Catholic schools
  • Appropriate qualifications, skills, and abilities to provide students with rich and rewarding educational experiences, catering for individual needs in an inclusive, open learning environment
  • Ability to embrace and implement evidence-informed learning and teaching, delivering content with passion
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing responsibility for improving student outcomes
  • Effective classroom behavior management strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff, students, and families
  • A commitment to adopting the school's evidence-informed practices, including the Science of Reading, designing a knowledge-based curriculum, and using an Explicit Instruction pedagogical approach
Salary and Conditions

Salary in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement. Details available at www.cecv.catholic.edu.au.

Special Requirements
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School (preferred)
  • Current Teacher Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Completion and submission of the 'Application For Employment' document
