Job description

We are offering a 3-month Waste Business Support Officer contract with a large Council in the Southeast suburbs. The role offers $40-42 per hour.

  • Previous waste administration experience is essential; experience with TechOne is advantageous.
  • Represent a Local Government authority, providing excellent community service.
  • Own transport is required.

You will work with the Waste Management team in a council located in the South-Eastern suburbs. Your role involves supporting essential community services such as bin collection, hard waste, dumped rubbish, and litter bin collection. As a Business Support Officer, you will ensure service requests are efficiently handled and resident queries are promptly addressed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and actioning a high volume of service requests.
  • Responding to customer and resident inquiries promptly.
  • Supporting operational processes and communication within the Waste Management team.
  • Providing accurate information via telephone and email, focusing on data inquiries.
  • Maintaining a courteous and professional image for the Council.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Experience in operational environments preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to create clear, visually appealing documents and templates compliant with standards.
  • Proficiency in formatting reports and correspondence per style guides.
  • Accurate data entry and maintenance in Council databases.
  • Knowledge of storing documents in Council records systems.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
