Philanthropy Specialist

The Heart Foundation is seeking a Philanthropy Specialist to join their team in Subiaco. This full-time, permanent role is responsible for growing and managing high-value donor relationships across Western Australia. Reporting to the WA General Manager, you will lead the state's major gifts and trust/foundation portfolio, collaborating with local and national teams to deliver measurable impact.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors, trusts, and foundations
• Develop a WA-specific philanthropy strategy and business plan
• Re-engage and deepen relationships with current and lapsed donors
• Write compelling cases for support and tailored funding proposals
• Identify new prospects and create a pipeline of long-term supporters
• Host donor engagement and stewardship events across WA
• Collaborate with the national philanthropy team to align strategy and processes
• Work with internal teams to ensure proposals reflect key program priorities
• Provide in-person support and donor care to WA-based philanthropists
• Forecast income and report against agreed KPIs

• Proven experience managing major donor or high-value client relationships
• Confidence securing large philanthropic gifts (e.g. $50,000+)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to engage a diverse donor base
• Excellent proposal writing skills
• Strong planning and organisational skills with a strategic mindset
• Experience with CRM or fundraising databases (e.g. Raiser's Edge)
• Understanding of the donor journey and moves management
• Knowledge of Australia's philanthropic landscape, trusts, and foundations
• Willingness to attend events and meetings outside regular hours when required
