Job Description

As the Director of Sales at Hyde Perth, you'll lead the charge in building and driving the hotel's sales strategy, positioning Hyde as one of the most exciting lifestyle destinations in the city. You'll be responsible for maximizing revenue across all segments and fostering relationships that grow our brand visibility locally and nationally.

This role requires vision, drive, and a flair for creative selling—someone who understands the numbers and the people behind them. You'll craft compelling partnerships, convert leads into loyal guests, and embody the Hyde spirit in all activities.

Main Functions

  1. Lead and develop a sales strategy aligned with Hyde Perth's commercial goals and brand positioning.
  2. Drive revenue growth across all market segments, including corporate, leisure, MICE, and group business.
  3. Build, manage, and inspire a high-performance sales team focused on results, relationships, and creativity.
  4. Develop strategic partnerships and build strong relationships with key accounts, agencies, and local stakeholders.
  5. Collaborate with Revenue and Brand Marketing to optimize pricing, packaging, and promotional strategies.
  6. Identify new business opportunities and emerging markets, keeping Hyde ahead of the competition.
  7. Represent Hyde Perth at industry events, tradeshows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand presence.
  8. Monitor sales performance and pipeline activity, producing accurate reports and insights.
  9. Work closely with operations and brand teams to exceed guest and client expectations.
  10. Ensure all sales practices comply with brand standards and local regulations.

Qualifications

About You

  1. You have 5–7 years of experience in hotel sales, including at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
  2. You are familiar with the Australian market, and experience with hotel openings is a plus.
  3. You have built or helped shape a sales function and know how to balance strategy with hustle.
  4. You are a natural relationship-builder with a strong network and storytelling skills that convert.
  5. You thrive in fast-paced environments, think strategically, and execute with precision.
  6. You understand the importance of aligning sales with brand, revenue, and operations teams.
  7. You are goal-oriented, resilient, results-driven, and collaborative.
  8. You are humble, curious, and proactive in making things happen.
  9. You enjoy testing new ideas and having fun along the way.
  10. You are open to ideas, egoless, and team-oriented.
