Youth Program Manager – Make Waves in the Lives of Young Surf Lifesavers

Are you passionate about surf lifesaving, youth leadership, and building community?

Do you want to shape the next generation of surf lifesavers while working at one of the most iconic beaches on the Gold Coast?

Tweed Heads & Coolangatta SLSC is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and people-focused Youth Program Manager to lead an exciting new chapter in our club's story. This is your chance to build and grow a dynamic youth program supporting members aged 14–19 as they transition from Nippers to confident Senior Lifesavers.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design and deliver a structured youth engagement and development program
  • Create training and mentoring pathways from Nippers to Senior Surf Lifesaving
  • Organise youth-focused events, surf sports training, and leadership opportunities
  • Promote a fun, inclusive, and supportive culture at every step
  • Be a key contact for youth members, families, volunteers, and community partners
  • Champion youth voices in club leadership and activities
  • Support state and regional development programs (camps, clinics, events)
  • Assist with promotions, communications, fundraising, and grant writing

What We're Looking For
  • A genuine passion for youth development and surf lifesaving
  • Strong leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience
  • Confidence in organising events, training sessions, and community engagement
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to inspire young people
  • Willingness to work flexibly—including weekends and school holidays when required
  • Blue Card (Working With Children Check) and/or First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)

Bonus points if you have:

  • Bronze Medallion or surf lifesaving awards
  • Experience working in surf clubs, aquatic environments, schools, or sports coaching with young people

  • Reports to: Club President
  • Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Contract with flexible hours
  • Remuneration: Commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications
