Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Men's Family Violence Counsellor to provide clinical assessment, individual and group therapy and case management support to clients. The role involves working with men who perpetrate family violence and prioritising the safety needs of women and children who have been impacted by the violence. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team that is passionate about the work that it provides for the community.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term Role until 19 June 2026
Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment of clients under consideration for participation in our programs.
  • Facilitating the Men's Behaviour Change Program.
  • Providing individual case management support to male perpetrators of violence.
About You
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related field.
  • Meet mandatory minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioners, or commitment to meet these requirements within five years.
  • Previous experience facilitating group therapy, particularly Men's Behaviour Change, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in the specialist family violence field, particularly working with perpetrators of violence, is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to enhancing the safety of women, children and the community.
