About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our friendly and supportive team at Juniper Korumup in Albany. This is a fixed-term position to cover paternity leave for 6 months starting in October.

The purpose of this role is to prepare high-quality, nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements. You will work within a team of catering staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. You will ensure meals are of excellent quality and that a safe food service is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food
  • Clean cooking areas and equipment
  • Maintain safe food hygiene practices
  • Manage resources – including ordering and stock control
  • Manage staff – supervision and delegation as required
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational, Safety and Health requirements
  • Engage with residents and participate in facility-based resident meetings to support continuous improvement

Key requirements:

  • Trade certificate / Certificate III or equivalent qualification - desired
  • Experience in a commercial cooking environment and/or aged care catering - essential
  • Current knowledge of Food Safe Plus practices, hygiene standards, quality system requirements, and relevant aged and resident care legislation
  • Knowledge of dietary nutrition for the aged
  • Understanding of infection control
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
