About the role

selectability is looking for a passionate and motivated Youth Worker to join our growing team Our youth residential program provides accommodation and intensive support to children and young people with a variety of needs.

As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our children and young people to live their best lives. You will bring genuine passion and commitment to make a difference in their lives. Children and young people may come with high to complex needs, and selectability aims to promote consistent and stable teams to support their recovery.

About you

To be successful you must:

  • possess clear and effective communication skills
  • demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management
  • be able to follow policies and procedures
  • be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
  • be flexible to work across a 24/7 roster

Role requirements

  • must have a minimum of Cert IV qualification recognized under the child safety minimum qualification standards (or willing to actively study)
  • possess certification in Hope and Healing for residential care (to be obtained upon commencement)
  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's license
  • a fully insured, roadworthy vehicle registered for work purposes
  • current nationally recognized First Aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain)
  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
