About the opportunity

At Australia Post, we're seeking two motivated Payroll Applications Support Team Leaders to join our growing Payroll Operations team. In this role, you'll lead a team of Payroll Application Analysts, overseeing system upgrades, managing change control, and addressing payroll queries within our tiered service model. You'll play a key part in ensuring the team's success while fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement. What you'll deliver with us

In this role, you'll lead a small team to deliver payroll system enhancements, optimize processes, and ensure smooth system upgrades. You'll analyze trends and root causes to improve payroll operations while maintaining clear documentation and fostering collaboration across teams.

You'll also:

• Lead the successful delivery of payroll system enhancements, process improvements, and related projects, driving initiatives to optimize payroll accuracy, efficiency, and automation while resolving complex system and process issues.
• Manage testing, validation, and issue resolution for payroll system upgrades and patches, collaborating with IT, HR, Finance, and vendors to ensure seamless system functionality and compliance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system changes and processes, oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for SAP Payroll updates, and provide Tier 3 support for payroll queries, ensuring effective troubleshooting and training.

About you

You will need strong leadership skills to manage payroll application sprints, ensuring effective resource allocation, system testing, and issue resolution. Your ability to drive successful UAT and collaborate with cross-functional teams like HR, Finance, IT, and Payroll Operations will be key.

A deep understanding of SAP payroll systems and Time & Attendance processes is crucial. You should be able to troubleshoot complex Tier 3 payroll queries, distinguish between system and process issues, and ensure timely resolutions. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders—including People & Culture COE teams, SAP Services, IT teams, and vendors—is essential. Effective communication skills are vital, especially in translating technical issues for non-technical users and managing response times to ensure smooth payroll operations.
