JS Careers is currently mandated to source an experienced technology risk professional for a leading Australian bank. The available role will be responsible for running the technology controls assurance function and leading a global team of 7.

The role will sit in the enterprise-wide technology division and report directly to the Global Head of Technology Risk. The available position ideally requires 10+ years of technology-focused risk or audit experience within financial services or technology firms.

There will be a specific focus on uplifting the current controls testing capability with a strive towards automation using AI and other new and innovative technologies. This is your chance to shape the future of the way the bank runs its controls assurance and manages risk.

Duties will entail:

• Lead a high performing team responsible for technology controls testing in the first line whilst facing off directly to the technology functions;
• Leverage cutting edge technologies, AI and data analytics to build a market a leading controls testing capability with a strive towards automation;
• Reviewing, assessing and approving new initiatives;
• Review and challenge of the first line risk and technology teams to drive the implementation of any improvements or remediation actions required to uplift the control environment; and
• Documenting assurance reviews as they relate to the enterprise-wide technology division.

Candidates must possess :

• 10+ years technology risk or IT audit experience within financial services or technology firm;
• A questioning mind and deep understanding of controls testing and assurance across technology and IT services;
• Proven success in designing and implementing innovative approaches to controls testing and utilising advanced tools and technologies such as AI;
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across teams;
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver results to deadline;
• Proven team leadership experience.
