Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate assistant manager who enjoys working with the public to join our team at Jackson Brothers Coffeehouse. In this role, you will work closely with the owner/manager to ensure smooth cafe operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate has a passion for the food industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to think quickly.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in food preparation and baking, ensuring all baked goods meet quality standards.
  • Operate the POS system for order processing and cash handling.
  • Provide excellent customer service and foster a welcoming environment for all guests.
  • Supervise and train team members to maintain efficient operations.
  • Manage inventory levels and assist with supply orders.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and front of house areas.
  • Support cafe management in daily operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment.
Experience & Skills:
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred.
  • Familiarity with food preparation, baking, and kitchen equipment.
  • Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
  • Supervisory or team management experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills and knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Previous cafe or restaurant experience, including barista or baking, is desirable.
Job Details:
  • Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
  • Hours: 35-40 per week
  • Location: Victoria, BC (On-site)
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Benefits: Casual dress, discounted/free food, store discount

  • License/Certification: FoodSafe (required)
