THE ROLE

The Assistant Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting, is second in charge to the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager. The role involves assisting with the management of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Unit, including staff and deliverables. Main responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of the Department's annual statutory reporting, including managing Victorian Auditor-General's office requirements;
  • Monthly analysis and reporting of the portfolio's financial results to the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF);
  • Financial viability analysis of funded organisations;
  • Assisting with the department's taxation obligations;
  • Chart of account management;
  • Providing financial accounting and reporting technical advice to program managers and the Department's Executive.
Accountabilities Include
  • Leading the reporting and analysis of the Department's annual financial statements;
  • Assisting in managing the Financial Accounting and Reporting Unit, including its staff and deliverables;
  • Ensuring compliance with the Financial Management Act 1994, relevant legislation, regulations, government directives, policies, and guidelines.
