About the role

The Enterprise Technology & Software Engineering team connect and build the technology tools that help our group work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.

We achieve this by focusing on the configuration, development and continuous improvement of our Enterprise Technology platforms, our approach is seamless and iterative, prioritising agility and adaptability. By integrating modern engineering approaches and fostering a culture of constant innovation, we ensure that our core building blocks not only support current needs but also scales effortlessly for future growth.

In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers. You will be responsible for building, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting event-driven solutions and APIs that deliver value to the business. Working closely with business users and fellow team members, you will ensure that our software engineering solutions are reliable, effective, and aligned with Ampol's needs. As a leader, you will also provide thought leadership, coaching, and guidance to engineers and squad members.

You'll take us further by

• Designing and delivering integration solutions end to end, including both in a hands-on capacity and as an SME for the broader team
• Providing technical expertise to the broader team, contribute to development of standards and best practices, ultimatelyleading by example
• Keep current with technology and industry changes and contribute to discussion to improve existingsolutions
• Quickly ideate solutions, with a view on blockers, dependencies andreleventstakeholders
• Lead, mentor and grow our people

We'd love it if you have

• Extensive software development experience with focus on backend integration work, including operating as a technical lead or functional SME.
• Previous experience with Boomi, including the design, developmentand ongoing support of integrations and APIs.
• Previousexperience with people leadership responsibilities
• Building and leading a high performing technical team
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; demonstratedability to build trust and communicate to technical and non-technical employees
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities across a varied programme of work
