Job Description

MLOps Engineer - Sensor Fusion

Sydney

$140,000 - $160,000 + super

This role offers an exciting opportunity to deepen your expertise in MLOps while working on cutting-edge technology that matters. The last two people we placed here have been promoted, and if you're serious about career growth, this team is ready to invest in you.

Enjoy hybrid working arrangements, and if you work in the office later, dinner and an Uber home are covered.

Work alongside ML Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Drone Pilots to build real-world sensor fusion systems used by governments and militaries worldwide. You'll solve complex problems related to detection accuracy, sensor benchmarking, and real-time validation.

What You'll Do

The problem space is constantly evolving, making this a true race to innovation. You'll be at the intersection of code, sensors, and simulation, where AI meets the real world, helping to defend assets and people in real-time in an increasingly autonomous environment.

You'll maintain and improve a physics-based simulator (C++ & Python) used to generate synthetic drone detections, ensuring tight integration with the sensor fusion testing pipeline. You'll also develop tools to benchmark data accuracy and AI model performance, supporting hyperparameter tuning and evaluation through platforms like ClearML.

Designing and implementing automated CI/CD, MLOps, and DataOps workflows will be a major focus, keeping development and testing scalable and repeatable.

The previous person in this role was promoted within the company and became a certified Drone Pilot while analyzing real-world test data to ensure ML models could handle environmental complexity. You could achieve similar growth.

What You'll Need
  • Strong Python & C++ skills with experience in CI/CD and MLOps/DataOps pipelines (e.g., ClearML)
  • Background in simulation, benchmarking, or digital twin environments
  • Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, maths, and physics
