About the Opportunity

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this we are seeking aLibrary Assistantto join our team. This role is based at the Port Macquarie Library, but you may be required to work occasionally at our other Branches through the Port Macquarie Hastings region.

To help us achieve this we require a dynamic, motivated, and energetic person committed to great customer service with knowledge and understanding of the role of a public library. You will be a team player, who enjoys solving problems and working in a constantly changing environment. You must be able to woork weekends on a rotating roster.

On a typical day our Library Assistant will:

  • Learn the various aspects of library work and the crucial role of a modern public library;
  • Be rostered on regular service desk shifts;
  • Provide basic IT/digital literacy assistance;
  • Be Involved in the provision of a range of library programs and events;
  • Coordinate and implement our Home Library service for the community.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week)

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $63,407 per year PLUS 12% Superannuation and the opportunity for further salary increases through on the job competencies.
