Clinical Psychologist – Schools and Early Years role at Royal Far West. Open to part-time (minimum 3 days) and full-time applicants. Royal Far West is a Manly-based non-government organisation delivering multidisciplinary health and wellbeing services for country children in rural and remote NSW, including services delivered in schools via telehealth.
Responsibilities- Deliver clinical psychology services to schools and preschools in designated regions, including weekly individual therapy via telehealth and collaboration with parents/carers and school staff to support students' needs.
- Contribute to assessment services, group therapy, and professional development for school staff.
- Provide opportunities for community visits one to two times per semester to understand local context and build relationships with clients, families and education staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team activities with OTs, speech pathologists, psychologists, and social workers; engage in supervision (individual and group), including supervision for the clinical psychology registrar program.
- Utilise telehealth tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom) and maintain high-quality written and verbal communication; ensure compliance with Child Safe practices and mandatory checks.
- Accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Experience in pediatric psychological assessment and diagnosis, including administration of Wechsler assessments and relevant questionnaires; ability to manage a caseload with diverse needs (disability, complex development, social-emotional, learning and behavioural concerns).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for report writing and collaboration with children, carers, educators and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Child Safe practices and relevant legislation; commitment to family-centered and strengths-based care; ability to work effectively with CALD and Indigenous communities.
- Proficiency with digital tools and delivering services via telehealth.
- Structured induction program; professional development opportunities including clinical supervision and a dedicated development budget; 22 hours of paid study leave.
