About Us
Royal Far West is a rapidly expanding charity that has connected children in rural and remote communities to the care they need since 1924. Our School Services Team partners with rural and remote preschools and primary schools across Australia to provide multidisciplinary services. We work closely with teaching staff and families to support and empower children with communication needs. Royal Far West has been recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand's Best Places to Work in The Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine list.
Introduction
We deliver services via telehealth enabling Clinicians to work from home and apply from anywhere in Australia. There are opportunities to do in-person community visits to build deeper connections with communities. A sample outreach video of a Royal Far West Clinician is available.
Purpose of the Position
As a speech pathologist, you will work alongside occupational therapists and psychologists delivering services to preschools and schools in set regions. A substantial portion of the caseload is individual therapy and working with parents and school staff to support students' individual needs. There are opportunities to provide assessment services, group therapy and professional development to school staff. A typical day involves seeing 4-5 clients and attending a team or supervision meeting.
We are committed to continual improvement and provide clinicians with access to individual and group supervision and professional development opportunities. Flexible working is supported, including working from home (including fully remote staff) and part-time arrangements (minimum of three days a week preferred). Given our service delivery to schools, clinicians can request additional leave during school holiday periods.

Essential: Qualifications in Speech Pathology; experience providing therapy to children with speech, language and literacy difficulties; strong written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration. Role requires vaccination protection as a 'Category A employee', and a current NSW Working with Children Check (Service NSW). Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications and video platforms such as Zoom.
Desirable: Practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia; experience delivering group programs, comprehensive assessments, working in a multidisciplinary team, telehealth service delivery, trauma-informed practice, and school-based work.
Our Culture
Royal Far West is a rewarding, inspiring, diverse and purpose-driven workplace. Our core values are Care, Connection, Passion and Impact.
Benefits
Structured Induction; meaningful work supporting children's mental health and resilience; focus on clinical care with administration and planning supported by the team; opportunities for clinical supervision and leadership programs; multi-disciplinary collaboration with clinicians across disciplines; attractive remuneration (base salary + 12% super); salary packaging options; work from Manly Beach or from home with outreach travel; purchase leave and leave benefits; parental and other leave provisions; recognition and positive culture.
