About the team

In our Operations Transformation practice, we focus on addressing issues that keep COOs and senior executives awake at night. We assist clients in implementing their strategic vision with a clear business case, target operating model design, and robust implementation plan. We delve into every layer of an organization, from improving citizen experience to enhancing organizational performance, optimizing daily operations, and service delivery. We also specialize in large-scale, complex transformations, designing and executing effective portfolio and program management to ensure successful delivery for both state and national projects.

Our team collaborates with senior leaders across Federal and State governments, addressing shifting stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements through operational transformation to improve processes, optimize structures, and reduce costs. We support government agencies and regulators in fulfilling their responsibilities and serving citizens across NSW and Australia.

About the role

As a Senior Manager in our Operations Transformation practice, you will lead high-profile transformation programs and manage complex portfolios for public sector and government clients. Your responsibilities include:

1. Leading end-to-end delivery of major programs, ensuring timely, on-budget, high-quality outcomes.
2. Partnering with senior client stakeholders to understand priorities, provide strategic advice, and guide change initiatives.
3. Overseeing design and implementation of program structures, governance models, and performance metrics.
4. Managing multidisciplinary teams and client resources, fostering collaboration and accountability.
5. Supporting business development efforts by growing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
6. Mentoring junior team members to build capabilities in project management, delivery, and client engagement.

You will also leverage AI-powered tools, automation, and data analytics to improve efficiencies, enhance outcomes, and support digital transformation. You will champion emerging technologies in program management and operations, ensuring clients benefit from innovation in the AI era.

This role is suited for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments, takes ownership of delivery outcomes, and works closely with senior leaders.

About your experience

To succeed, you will have:

1. Extensive program and project delivery experience within Tier 1 consulting, boutique firms, or senior internal roles.
2. A background in public sector, government, or regulated industries.
3. Proven success in portfolio/program management, PMO leadership, and delivering large-scale initiatives.
4. Experience managing senior client relationships and diverse stakeholder groups.
5. Leadership skills in mentoring and team development.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to convert challenges into actionable plans.
7. Excellent communication skills, confident engaging at senior levels.
8. Experience in process improvement, operating model design, or transformation delivery is a plus.
9. Familiarity with AI, automation, and digital tools in transformation projects is highly desirable.
