About the Role
The Friends' School is seeking a visionary and experienced leader to join our leadership team as Director of Wellbeing. This permanent, full-time role will commence in 2026, with flexibility for a start at either the beginning of Semester 1 or Semester 2.
The development of this new position reflects the strategic commitment to placing student and staff wellbeing at the heart of our work at The Friends' School. With the increasing complexity of student needs and the evolving challenges in mental health and pastoral care, the Director of Wellbeing will ensure a cohesive, whole-school approach to wellbeing from Early Learning through to Year 12. This alignment ensures that wellbeing is not seen as an ancillary support but as an integral part of the learning environment.
The Director of Wellbeing will be a central figure in realising the School's Strategic Plan, by leading initiatives that promote resilience, connection, and positive mental health outcomes for our students. As convenor of the E–12 Pastoral Care Committee, the Director will foster collaboration across all sections of the School, ensuring consistency in pastoral practices and equitable access to support services. Additionally, the position will directly supervise school psychologists and work closely with the access and inclusion team, creating a unified and responsive framework that can better meet the diverse needs of the school community. Through this leadership role, every student feels supported, known, and valued.
This position will be advertised with a flexible starting date for either the beginning of Semester 1 or Semester 2 in 2026. We see this position as having a significant impact on both the student body and the school community.
