About the role

Engineer Developer Services (EDS) is a new team within the Modelling & Engineering division. We are responsible for assessing high-impact, low-probability events, reviewing major power system incidents, commissioning inter-network capacity, managing power system data and models, and supporting data requests. This role focuses on maintaining and developing power system engineering tools that support our functions and industry standards.

You will manage the IT Custodian responsibilities for tools like the AEMO Modelling Platform, Phasor Analytics System, and Marginal Loss Factor Calculation, supporting skill development and ensuring cyber resilience and supportability.

What you will be doing
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and developers, fostering talent and supporting project needs.
  • Manage and develop applications for power system data management, modelling, and operational purposes.
  • Support projects aimed at enhancing Operations Technology and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and support training programs to uplift developer skills and standardize practices.
  • Define business requirements for projects interfacing between Operations and Digital teams.
What you will bring to the role

We seek a candidate with a blend of engineering and software development expertise, including:

  • Relevant tertiary/postgraduate qualifications.
  • Experience leading software development teams, with skills in SQL Server, Python, Vue, TypeScript, and evolving technologies.
  • Experience managing power system applications and automation tools, with knowledge of power system fundamentals.
  • Understanding of data governance, version control, SDLC, and data security.
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects, including resourcing and budgeting.
