The Role
The ABC is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Editor to lead editorial planning and content production for ABC Riverina across all platforms, ensuring alignment with the ABC's strategy and the News division's objectives. The successful applicant will help shape the public discourse of the Riverina region, by breaking exclusive stories across the ABC's core platforms of audio, video, and online.

The Job
- Lead editorial planning and produce distinctive, cross‑platform content aligned with ABC strategy.
- Create stories that reflect Australia's cultural and social diversity.
- Build and lead a collaborative, high‑performing team, that respects one another.
- Foster and develop the capacity and skills of both junior and senior content makers in the bureau.
- Identify and share local stories across News and ABC platforms.
- Manage local emergency coverage and stakeholder communication.
- Collaborate on community activities and national projects to grow reach and engagement.
- Improve efficiency through flexible staffing, rostering, and resource use.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Strong editorial and leadership skills, sourcing diverse stories aligned with ABC policy.
- Proven experience leading diverse teams collaboratively.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong understanding of local audience needs.
- Commitment to authentic content reflecting cultural, linguistic and Indigenous diversity.
- Ability to build and maintain broad community contacts and passion for storytelling that reflects Australia's diversity.
