Full-time, ongoing position at our Hawthorn campus

Academic Level B salary + 17% superannuation and flexible work options

About the Role

The Department of Nursing seeks a dedicated professional to enhance inclusion, quality, and delivery of Nursing education and research at Swinburne. This is an identified role designed to attract passionate Indigenous nurses, recognizing the value of their cultural knowledge and community connections in teaching and research.

You will collaborate with the Professor of Nursing, a proud Wiradjuri woman with extensive clinical and leadership experience, and with academic colleagues across the Department, School, and health sector. Your responsibilities include embedding Indigenous knowledge, person-centred practice, and technology/innovation into the curriculum, contributing to the development and review of the Bachelor of Nursing, and fostering an inclusive academic community.

You will receive support for higher degree research studies and mentorship to develop your academic career. You will also participate in research aligned with the strategic directions of the School of Health Sciences and Department of Nursing, focusing on Indigenous knowledge, person-centred practice, and technology.

About You

To be suitable for this role, you should have experience in the following key areas:

  • A willingness to complete a teaching/education qualification.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in Nursing.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with capacity to contribute to course and program leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience contributing to research teams and partnerships, and supervising practice research for impactful outcomes (preferred).
Qualifications
  • Relevant Nursing qualifications and eligibility for AHPRA registration.
  • A PhD or Doctorate relevant to the discipline, or equivalent experience, or a demonstrated willingness to engage in Higher Degree Research (HDR) studies.
