Food Service Officer

The Team :

As a Food Services Officer working in the RHH, you'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for providing patients with nutritious meals and excellent service. The team collaborates to ensure safe food preparation and handling, hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork.

The Role :

In accordance with agency policies, procedures, and guidelines, assist with food preparation, production, plating, service, ware-washing, and cleaning duties for catering to patients, visitors, and staff.

• Maintain high standards of food preparation, service, meal distribution, ware-washing, and cleaning in accordance with relevant codes of practice.
• Participate in and contribute to the organisation's Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including developing safety systems and training.
• Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and walls as directed by supervisors and guidelines.
• The role may cover morning or evening meal delivery services.
• Work hours are between 7:00am and 7:30pm, up to 8 hours per day.
• This is a casual position, requiring shift coverage at short notice.

You will need :

• Experience in food preparation, production, cook-chill procedures, and working in large organisations.
• Knowledge of food handling and hygiene regulations, maintaining hygienic work areas and equipment, and high personal hygiene standards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to understand instructions and work effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.

Details of appointment :

This is a fixed-term, casual position working as required, starting as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. The process may be used to fill similar casual vacancies for 12 months.

Salary : $57,130 to $62,486 per annum (pro-rata). Includes 12% superannuation and 25% casual loading ($36.00 to $39.37 per hour). Salary is aligned with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging :

Access to salary packaging benefits including expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 for meal entertainment annually, plus other benefits if eligible.
