Rental Operations Manager - Trucks and Trailers

An exciting opportunity has come up to join TR Group Branch Manager in our Perth Branch.

You'll be responsible for guiding our rental operations through growth and change – while keeping our team running smoothly and continuing to build strong, trusted relationships with our customers. The rental environment can be fast-paced and complex, so we're looking for someone who is resilient, people-focused, and always thinking about the bigger picture.

This role works with a wide variety of people who all connect with TR Group in different ways – so confidence, adaptability, and sound judgment are key to building respect and driving positive outcomes.

We're looking for someone with experience in the transport or rental industry who wants to grow and challenge themselves – this is a leadership position that brings variety, responsibility, and real impact.

What You'll Be Doing

Leadership responsibilities

Lead a small, tight-knit team of 2 (an Equipment Services & Rental Coordinator), providing regular feedback and actively supporting their development.

Drive a great branch culture – our Perth branch includes a team of 5 from different functions, plus visiting team members from across the business. You'll play a key role in keeping the culture positive and collaborative.

Champion continuous improvement – you'll be constantly looking for ways to improve systems and processes for a smooth customer experience, while also working on your own growth and expertise.

Handle complex conversations – you'll manage difficult or sensitive conversations with customers and suppliers with confidence, ensuring things are resolved quickly and respectfully.

Get stuck in when needed – while the physical yard work isn't your day-to-day, you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and help out when things get busy.

Think long-term – your decisions reflect a broader business view, balancing short-term wins with long-term impact for our people, customers, and suppliers.

Be a visible leader – your presence and influence will be felt across your team and beyond, building strong relationships throughout TR Group.

Customers

Own customer relationships – stay closely connected with our Perth customers.

Grow the customer base – you'll actively develop new customer relationships through networking, and building trust.

Collaborate with other branches – you'll work closely with branch leaders to forecast seasonal fleet requirements, manage relocations and refurbishments, and align on systems and processes.

Manage tough situations thoughtfully – when equipment fails or damage occurs, you'll navigate the conversation with care and confidence, ensuring the right outcomes for all parties.
