The Role
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and sustainable operation of Cedar Pacific's assets. Working closely with the building operator, contractors, and consultants, this role oversees the delivery of all facilities management services to ensure an excellent resident experience, asset preservation, and alignment with Cedar Pacific's ESG and asset strategies.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Operational Performance: Oversee and ensure efficient functioning of all building services and manage hard service contractors in conjunction with Operator. Conduct regular inspections and provide support in resolving building-related issues.
Maintenance: Oversee and track planned preventative maintenance and ensure maintenance of compliance records.
Capital Works & Defects: Oversee and manage minor capital works and lifecycle programs. Manage third party defect rectification for new assets.
Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to WHS and building regulations. Lead risk assessments and manage contractor compliance.
Sustainability & ESG: Support energy, water, and waste initiatives. Contribute to environmental certifications and ESG reporting.
Budget & Reporting: Review Operator input into OPEX/CAPEX budgets. Maintain accurate records of assets, maintenance, and contractors.
We think you'll thrive here if you:
Minimum 5 years' experience with building services, facility management or technical project delivery ideally within Living Sector Assets (Purpose Built Student Accommodation and Build to Rent) or Commercial property, including end-to-end contract development and management from initiation to completion.
Strong understanding of base building services, including HVAC, BMS, fire systems, hydraulics, vertical transport, and general compliance.
Demonstrated experience with consultants and contractors in a live operational environment.
Ability to independently manage competing priorities across projects while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Working knowledge of WHS regulations, NCC, and Australian building codes, standards and statutory compliance standards.
Experience supporting sustainability initiatives and reporting frameworks is highly desirable.
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
