Summary Description:

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer who thrives in high-velocity environments and is passionate about automation, scalability, and security. This role focuses on managing and optimising our Windows-based Genesys Latitude application in AWS, ensuring reliability and performance across cloud infrastructure, systems, and databases. You'll play a key role in building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code, automating deployments, and implementing security best practices.

In this position, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions while continuously improving system performance and deployment processes. If you excel in managing AWS-based Windows environments, SQL Server databases, and CI/CD pipelines—and enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges—this role is for you.

How we work:

We operate with a lightweight, agile process that prioritises cross-functional collaboration, autonomy, and knowledge-sharing.

This role is open to candidates across the USA, but requires working during Pacific Time hours (GMT -7) to ensure overlap with our Sydney-based teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Administer and optimize Windows-based systems in AWS environments to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Manage SQL Server databases in AWS, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Automate deployment pipelines and workflows for seamless software delivery.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure, application, and database issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into efficient technical solutions.
  • Implement security best practices across cloud, systems, and databases.
  • Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and deployment processes.

Key requirements:

  • 5 year+ experience as DevOps Engineer
  • Experience managing MS SQL Server in AWS environments
  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Strong experience managing and automating Windows-based systems in AWS.
  • Experience managing security and compliance on Windows machines in AWS.

You Should Be Comfortable With:

  • Agile methodologies, Kanban and structuring your own work
  • High-velocity environments: frequent deployments, infrastructure changes.
  • Tech stack: AWS, Terraform, Ansible.
  • DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, version control (GitHub, BuildKite).
  • Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, or a programming language like Python or Go.
  • Monitoring and Logging: AWS CloudWatch, Grafana.
  • Ownership: driving infrastructure projects from concept to deployment.
  • Communication: discussing complex ideas with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Decision-making: balancing trade-offs and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Work culture: thriving in a fully remote, supportive environment

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Go and/or Python
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • AWS certifications or equivalent qualifications.
