Overview

Alex Barbas is undertaking a 7,800km return run from Sydney to Perth and back to raise $780,000 AUD for the Starlight Children's Foundation, helping over 20,000 sick children in hospitals across Australia. This run has never been completed before, and with one crew member having to withdraw unexpectedly, there's now a rare opportunity to join the core support team on this epic journey.

This is a volunteer position supporting a non-profit charity fundraiser, not a commercial expedition. While all core expenses are fully covered (flights, food, accommodation, supplies), there is no salary or daily rate. This role is best suited to those who are passionate about the cause and happy to contribute their time and skills toward a larger mission.

The Role

This crew role involves a combination of medical oversight (where appropriate) and logistics support, working alongside a small team that currently includes a videographer and photographer. Remote medical backup is provided by The Running Room, who are available for advice throughout.

Key journey dates:

Depart Sydney: 1st September 2025

Arrive Perth: 17th or 18th October
