Huxbaby is one of Australia's premier children's fashion brands and stocked in over 300 stores worldwide - including The Iconic and department stores David Jones, Myer, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales in the US.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Childrenswear Garment Technician (Full-time) to join our HQ in Malvern East. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organisation and computer skills.

To be successful you will have :

Minimum of 3-5 years working within a similar role

Experience working with baby / childrenswear is essential

Knowledge of children's sleepwear labelling and testing requirements

Solid knowledge of garment specification / technical fit with grading experience

In depth knowledge and experience in garment testing (especially in relation to childrenswear standards) and quality assurance

Strong communication skills with both offshore suppliers and internal team members

Organisational skills with impeccable attention to detail and an ability to anticipate problems / provide suitable solutions

Tech pack and garment spec knowledge is essential

Experience with Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator programs

Willingness to grow with our brand.

What a day at Huxbaby looks like :

Creating initial Tech Packs in conjunction with design for prototype development and help maintain tech packs at every stage

Conducting fit sessions, measuring garments and commenting on fit / manufacturing finishes with design and suppliers

Daily communication with offshore manufacturers

Researching and implementing changes to Huxbaby standards in compliance with local and international standards

Determining and actioning testing to ensure all product is compliant with Huxbaby standards (liaising with testing labs for seasonal bulk testing, record keeping and communicating with factory to ensure all concerns are addressed and fixed)

Checking, commenting and approving PP / shipment samples in conjunction with design and production

Organising and maintaining samples

Ad hoc, support production team with purchase orders, sample order and warehouse stock inbound template creation
