Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to build software and systems for some of the biggest data centers that exist in the world? The Azure Networking team designs and builds the software defined network infrastructure that powers millions of servers for Azure, Bing and other Microsoft cloud services. Azure Networking is at the forefront of Hyperscale Cloud Computing and runs a large datacenter network infrastructure. With the growth of AI, Microsoft is developing AI technologies and the team is tasked to design and build the next generation of AI networks.

Azure Networking team is looking for world-class Software Engineers to build high‑quality software to manage global scale AI networks.

Responsibilities
  • Works with stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  • Contributes to the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product area with minimal oversight.
  • Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code where applicable.
  • Participates in breaking down larger work items into smaller tasks and provides estimation.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation and to gain approval to restore service for simple problems.
  • Stays current in skills to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products and to drive consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Go, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in backend infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, design efficiently, and write solid code.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. These include, but are not limited to, the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (pass on hire/transfer and every two years thereafter).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or related field; OR related technical field AND 4+ years of experience; OR Master\'s Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 2+ years of experience; OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with networking, distributed systems, and system-level programming.
  • 1+ years of experience with agile methodology.
  • Proficient communication skills.
