About the role:

Are you ready to help a mission-driven organisation? UnitingSA are seeking an Accountant to deliver key financial information and reporting that supports more informed decision-making.

UnitingSA's Finance Services function provides accurate and transparent financial insights that enables strategically-aligned decision-making, operational efficiency, and long term sustainability in service of our impact.As part of a collaborative, dedicated team, theAccountantsupports the Senior Finance Business Partner to deliver financial, accounting and administrative reporting tothe organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Senior Finance Business Partner with the preparation of monthly financial reports and reconciliations, annual budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Support with the provision of information to auditors as requested.
  • Work closely with the Finance Services team to prepare ad-hoc reporting including for tenders or funding acquittals.
  • Provide analysis to support effective business decisions.
  • Support with enquiries from internal and external customers and provide a response promptly, accurately and confidently.
  • Maintain a focus and commitment to continuous improvement initiatives when undertaking accounting processes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards).
  • Current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (essential).
  • Experience applying accounting standards and/or accounting principles in a work environment (desirable).
  • Experience in assisting during the budget process for a large organisation (desirable).
  • A well-developed knowledge of the application of finance and/or accounting principles and practices.
  • A high level of ability to interact proactively with management and staff to support with financial services matters.
  • Knowledge of Technology One (desirable).
