Overview

Automation Engineer role at Allens. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with hybrid working (60% in the office). The IT team is based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane, and you will contribute to our digital transformation initiatives by driving process improvement and automation across various business areas.

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into practical automation solutions.
  • Participating in the full lifecycle of automation projects—from planning and testing to deployment and support.
  • Streamlining workflows and improving efficiency using modern tools and platforms.
  • Documenting processes and maintaining clear records to ensure transparency and consistency.
  • Collaborating with team members and other departments to share knowledge and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
About You / Qualifications
  • 3+ years in automation development within a medium to large corporate environment.
  • Proven experience delivering automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Copilot Agents) and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Experience with Boomi for automation across enterprise systems (well regarded).
  • Familiarity with Workato, K2, and/or Automation Anywhere (beneficial).
  • Ability to discover, understand, and integrate with RESTful APIs, including navigating documentation and testing endpoints.
  • Experience integrating across hybrid environments, including Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and on-premises systems.
  • Understanding of security best practices for automation, including data handling and access controls.
  • Clear, confident communication with stakeholders to translate needs into practical automation solutions.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and approaches; proactive mindset for continuous improvement.
