Overview

Be among the first 25 applicants. Support the implementation of a Portfolio Prioritization Framework and provide subject matter expertise to improve investment planning and decision-making processes. Interpret relevant frameworks and methodologies to develop practical and transparent prioritization tools. Provide advice on infrastructure portfolio planning, including demand forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and program balancing. Advise and influence senior executives and government stakeholders, facilitating workshops and briefings with authority and confidence. Build organizational capability by developing tools, templates, training, and guidance material. Collaborate with stakeholders across ISD to embed evidence-based and disciplined prioritization practices.

Responsibilities

The Successful Candidate

This Department is looking for a hands-on professional who can engage effectively from frontline staff through to senior executives. You will bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • Proven ability to design practical solutions, drive results, and manage change.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges in a large organization.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage conflict.
  • A team-focused mindset with the confidence to lead conversations and foster capability uplift across the Division.
Qualifications & Experience

While formal qualifications are not mandatory, the following will be highly regarded:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management, Project Management, Infrastructure Planning, Business, Economics or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in government infrastructure investment planning or capital portfolio management.
  • Experience working in complex organizations or government agencies.
  • Background in public sector reform, business transformation, or applying prioritization and decision-making frameworks in infrastructure or planning contexts.
